Connect with your Energy Centres

There are seven main chakras which, starting at the base chakra, develop from the third trimester of pregnancy with each chakra developing one at a time, in order, through to the brow chakra at adolescence. The crown chakra continues to develop throughout our lives. Once we reach adolescence the process starts over again although not necessarily in any particular order.
Just by knowing where your energy centres are in the body, you can start to become more aware of them and how they influence your sense of well being. Set your intent to clear and balance them.

Your 7 Main Energy Centres
Each chakra is a doorway into a deeper dimension that can reveal the true source of your well being. Find a quiet moment, relax your breathing and allow your body some time out to relax. Bring your focus to each chakra and imagine breathing through this energy centre. You may wish to use the following simple guide to focus your emotional intent for each chakra:
Root Chakra – “I am”. My right to be here, to be supported by the earth and to be independent
Sacral (Spleen) – “I feel”. I am a sensual and emotional being with a divine right to be connected with my true feelings and those of others
Solar Plexus – “I do”. I have strength of will to follow my purpose and release my personal power
Heart – “I love”. I am a loving being and am loved in return
Throat – “I express” I clearly communicate and express my truth creatively and am heard for what I have to say
Brow – “I see”. I see clearly and accurately and am connected to all things through my deeper vision
Crown – “I understand”. I am one with the universe and wisdom flows through me as a channel of truth
Imagine a clear channel of energy flowing through your body, through each of these centres. Your mind is a powerful too. By setting your intent to allow your body to flow more freely and naturally will allow the true source of who you really are to flow into your life.
A Pill for Every Ill

I was thinking the other night about the joke that you go to the doctor saying you’re not well and he says take an aspirin and call me in the morning. It seems now though that he says “Take an antidepressant and if you can remember to, call me in the morning”. What is happening to our health system?
I’ve heard about people who can’t sleep who are given antidepressants. People with migraines who are given antidepressants. Even people with depression are given them! It seems that today, antidepressants are the miracle cure for all that’s wrong with us. Except that they create a false reality. A reality where there are no emotional highs or lows. There is just a flat, grey view of life.
Then of course, there are the side effects. It seems for every pill prescribed, there are two or three side effects. So let’s give you another pill to combat the side effects of the first one. And so it goes on.
Sure antidepressants have their place. However instead of trying to get to the cause of the problem, it seems (correctly or incorrectly) the medical profession often don’t have the time or the inclination to spend the time to get to the bottom of things. Why does it feel we are being treated as guinea pigs? Why do I perceive that medication prescribed can change according to the doctor seen at that time? The patient may see one doctor at a visit who prescribes a particular medication and then next time the patient goes along, there is a new doctor who has different ideas about their medication. So they change it.
Let’s not forget also, all of those people who now seem to have high cholesterol. Let’s give them some pills as well. And if they don’t work we’ll give them another type to take as well. And let’s throw in something for high blood pressure too.
Where will this all end?
We seem to know that something is terribly wrong but we’re still learning about how to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives without the need for manufactured drugs. It’s going to take time but we need to set the intention that we’ll get there.
This blog is a personal thought I wanted to share with you. I do not recommend you stop taking your medication or make any changes without the supervision and care of a qualified health professional. Self-empowerment is about opening your mind, body and spirit to all of the options and all of the alternatives. Make an informed decision about your future.
Questions for you: what to we need to do more of, in order to make informed decisions and be more in control of our health? Is it more input, explanation and support from the medical profession of how to lead naturally healthy lives? Will we find truth?

It had been a dream of mine to have a school where people from all walks of life and all ages could come and learn. I envisioned this learning to be about life as we know it, life as we once knew it, and life as it could be. I put that vision out there to the universe.
A couple of days later my friend Louise and I were having a catch up and she spoke about her vision, what she would like to achieve, and about her dreams. Louise also said that she would be really happy working with me. I hadn’t even told her what my dream was. But Snap! We both had a very similar vision.
And so The Life Academy of New Zealand was born. I am really grateful to be working with Louise. She is a wonderful, knowledgeable lady and I know she will put her heart and soul into making our dream come true. Just as I will.
We have some wonderful people who blog on our website, who also wish to share their knowledge and inspiration and we hope you will get the enjoyment and learning out of the Academy that is it’s purpose and passion, and that helps you reach your full potential.
What are your dreams?
We’d also love to hear from you – to find out what’s happening in your life and what your dreams are for the future. When you focus on what you desire the universe finds a way to make it happen. Even if they’re not clear right now, that’s okay because clarity comes with time and commitment on your part to see more clearly. Please do leave us a comment and become part of our community today…
