The Divination Experience Results 27th May

During The Divination Experience on Wednesday 27th May our group combined the power of astrology with the use of cards. After a meditation which connected us to the Wisdom of the Zodiac, we reflected on the following question whilst following the Divination procedure selected for that evening.
The question was:
How will The Life Academy of New Zealand expand overseas? The Academy is considered the collective people and collective intent to bring passion, purpose and potential into being.
Here are the results:
1. All will be in Divine Timing. When the full identity is complete, wisdom will be directed to where it is needed to go.
2. There will not be a lack of Ideas or Inspiration. Wisdom will be imparted. Remain grounded, money will be made available and needs will be met.
3. Creative Energy working together for the good of all. There will be travel to the South Island. A vision of Mount Cook was received.
4. Forgiveness, meaning letting go, is a message needed to be heard. Help people to release things that enable them to move on with their lives. Don’t limit the options. Whatever is needed can be achieved. Build strong foundations and show others how to build a similar model.
5. Healing will occur when you help people find their own truth. Develop the online community.
6. Focus on being present in other communities and ‘walk the talk’. Maintain the spark and enthusiasm for making a difference. Don’t get stale. There will be a lot of work to get the formula right over the next two years. Don’t allow negative people to ‘jump’ on you.
7. Spiritual growth will occur through strong alliances and partnerships. Protect your assets and be clear on what you are offering. This will save much wasted time and energy.
8. Ask for support from causes that desire to make a difference. Find people who want the same as you and work with them in partnership.
9. Surrender and release to something that cannot be anticipated. Release need and expectation. The Academy Good Will Project can make pockets of difference.
10 - 12 Ensure purity of intent, be honest and simple. Remove the need to protect and hold close and focus on self-disclosure.
11. Enjoy, share and be happy.
The Divination Experience Results 20th May

On Wednesday’s evenings we experience The Divination Experience! A group of us come together to connect with the Divine truth within and without, and connect with one another. Connecting with the Divine is about connecting with your own wisdom, your intuition, your truth. The Divination Experience aims to bring back the experience of channelling insight and knowledge into the every day.
According to Wikipedia, Divination (from Latin divinare “to be inspired by a god”, related to divine, diva and deus) is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of a standardized process or ritual. Divination is not telling the future that is based in fact. Divination can provide possibilities based on a person’s current path and decisions which can be changed at any time. This is called Free Will. Be wary of anyone’s claims that they can “see” the future, although they may be able to “see” the future possibilities.
Below is a list of commonly used Divination methods, although there are many more:
- Tarot
- Cards (Playing Cards, Angel Cards, Animal Guides)
- Numerology
- Runes
- I Ching
- Pendulum
- Connecting with Angels and Guides
- Scrying
- Crystals and the Crystal Ball
- Dominoes
- Astrology
- Palm Reading
- Tea Leaves
- Automatic Writing/Drawing
- Dream Interpretation
Man, throughout history, has found any tool to aid the connection to his own innate wisdom. The wisdom is not within the tool, but within ourselves.
We’d like to share the wisdom received on Wednesday 20th May. The question posed to the group of Diviners was:
How can New Zealand bring enlightenment to other Countries around the World?
Here is a summary of what was received:
New Zealand in Partnership
Working in unison and in tandem. There may be struggles at first. Remember that we are all one system, connecting with our commonalities as a human race. We are all children of God.
There would be much benefit in each of us connecting in brotherhood with another person in another country as Companions of Light. The wisdom received could be considered like an ‘exchange project’, connecting, exchanging and building bridges across Countries. A similar idea is groups connecting with like-minded groups in other countries. For example, a similar group/organisation to The Life Academy of New Zealand, exchanging experiences and building bridges across the water.
There is much to gain in bringing back lost ‘friends’ such as Fiji.
New Zealand with Positive Intent
Don’t try to make things happen. Set your intent to bring Light to the world and let the journey unfold. The Universe will help and support you through your Intent alone.
See Love everywhere and allow it to grow. You have the opportunity to transform your World through your positive radiance and vibration, so just remember just to Be and Be in the Now. Your ability to be in the Now will have a knock-on effect elsewhere.
Relax, breathe and stay fresh. Lose old habits that no longer serve your purpose. Maintain positive thoughts and affirm positive things. Pray Big – think Big. Treat New Zealand like a Wishing Well.
New Zealand as an Example of a Green Country
Do not waste Earth’s resources. Set good examples of how we can be self-sufficient, clean and green. Aim to be pollutant free and live with simple measures. Help others in being clean, green and nuclear-free.
Observe the Stars, the Moon – draw wisdom from Maori tradition, carvings and symbolism.
New Zealand as an example of ‘Good’ Business
Good Business Structures can make meaningful contributions to the world. This requires businesses to have high intent and to see themselves in service to others. True wealth is aligning Heaven with the Earth.
Demonstrating Leadership in Business through busyness and creating – not following. New Zealand can take the lead with its strong spiritual vibrations. We can build strong foundations with other countries through good negotiation and finding ways to be more creative.
Find new ways of exchanging resources, using outside sources where beneficial and replicating strategies that work. Spread good news. New Zealand can flow like a natural current – like a current of the sea. A new currency can be introduced by paying for goods and services.
The number 8 serves as the symbol of balance and perfection. Building bridges and building bonds across the waters. Being the number of perfection, this can be manifested if this is your intent.
Don’t borrow resources for they are not unlimited. Create resources, increase flow. Combine work from the home.
New Zealand as a Family
Restore the natural balance of family. When family runs in order, so does society. Nothing else flows if the family is in disorder. Work on restoring this balance and set this example for others.
Do let us know your thoughts about how New Zealand can bring enlightenment to the world. Leave us a comment. Thanks!
Signs of Life

The world is made up of sounds and symbols. Sounds and symbols are expressions that are loaded with a message or meaning. This meaning can be transitory - that is, this meaning can change to us each day as we are a forever moving, changing system. We are subjected to symbols everyday but unless we are open to receiving a deeper meaning then they may go unnoticed.
Numbers and letters are symbols and if you’re studied Numerology you will have looked at the symbols and meanings in your name and date of birth. Sounds are external expressions of meaning and is a potent force in our lives, that like symbols, can be used to bring much awareness and healing into your life. For example, the “AH” sound, in whatever key or tone feels comfortable for them is an extremely powerful sound–particularly useful for generating peace and compassion. Connecting with the symbols present in our everyday life can connect us with a level of understanding and meaning about our existence and experiences.
We are all familiar with the concept that dreams are symbolic of what is happening deep within our psyche and our daily life is no different. We are bombarded with more information than we are actually aware of - therefore by taking notice of our observations, especially when events or ‘things’ appear unusual or out of the ordinary, we can become an active observer of who we are in this dream called ‘life’.
The 5 Signs of Life
Here is a simple exercise to discover where you are in your life right now, using symbols. The exercise is based on the excellent work and fantastic book by Angeles Arrien - Signs of Life - The Five Universal Shapes and How to Use Them. I first did this exercise myself at a Development Group not knowing of its origin, later coming across the book by Angeles when I was reading one of her other titles. I imagine her work is spreading across the globe, and I am sure you will find it insightful.
Angeles discovered that there are five basic shapes that appear in all cultures, and that all people give similar meanings to these shapes. There is a connection between the preference we have for certain shapes and our inner-state. That is, shapes are external symbols for what is going on inside us (our worldview). To undertake this exercise is to help awaken and further your understanding of yourself.
Let’s make a start..
Important: Go through each of these steps in sequence. Do not read ahead.
Draw the above shapes in order of your preference starting with your most preferred and finishing with your least preferred. Don’t think about it too much - this shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds.
A brief meaning of the Shapes
Circle = wholeness
Square = stability
Triangle = goals and dreams
Cross = relationships
Spiral = growth
Meaning of the Preference Position
Preference 1. Where you think you are. Your most preferred position. What you are most aware of right now. Where you are most comfortable. BUT. This does not mean where you actually are
Preference 2. Your strengths. Whether you know it or not, this is the strength that you demonstrate without effort. This is part of your nature that is currently strong and that you are using to assist in the growth of preference 3.
Preference 3. Whilst you have ranked this as your 3rd preference, this shape is very significant. This is where you actually are right now. This is what is going on for you right now, most likely subconscious and without knowing.
Preference 4. Your motivation. Past challenges, tests and circumstances that have motivated your current process of change and brought you to where you are right now in position three. You may have resolved or moved beyond the things that are in this position.
Preference 5. Old, unfinished business. Least preferred. That which you have outgrown, dislike, resist or judging. Unresolved issues that you now wish to put aside. You will reclaim at a later date, this is not what you need to work on in the present.
Analyse your Signs of Life
Circle
The circle is about wholeness, independence, seeking identity, standing strong in who you are as an individual. Need for space, love and respect. Fear of entrapment. If you know someone going through this, give them space, let them contact you.
If the circle is:
Preference 1. Your desire for independence currently has your attention.
Preference 2. The journey of individuality is effortless to you.
Preference 3. The process of individuation is happening right now for you.
Preference 4. A past journey of finding your individuality has motivated you to become self-reliant.
Preference 5. You may be resisting or denying this process. What areas do you need to be more courageous? What would you do if you had a strong sense of self?
Square
Stability and security, process and hard-work. Four corners, four directions, four seasons, the foundations for life. Actions speak louder than words. Great for getting things done but a tendency to control and be impatient with others.
Preference 1. Stability and authenticity are important to you right now.
Preference 2. Your inherent strengths are responsibility and the ability to be fully committed.
Preference 3. Stability is occurring at the core of your nature right now.
Preference 4. Past issues around accountability and responsibility have led you to where you are now.
Preference 5. You may be denying the process of stability and responsibility. How can you integrate stability, responsibility and process into your life without compromising what is important to you right now?
Triangle
Goals, visions, dreams. Those of you in this process will feel loved and accepted when others share your dreams and goals. The triangle is the shape for attainment and new possibilities.
Preference 1. The process of setting a vision and goals is important to you right now.
Preference 2. You carry the gift of vision naturally.
Preference 3. This process of envisionment is central to your current development.
Preference 4. Your own process of following dreams has motivated you to make meaningful changes and moved you to where you are now, as designated by the symbol in your position three.
Preference 5. You may be resisting the process of honoring your dreams and setting goals. Why is this? Do you know how to set goals?
The Cross
Relationship. The sign symbolizes the process of relationship and integration. It is about balance. This sign carries the need for connection – to a project, to another person, to yourself. Honor time for shared activities. Fear of loss and abandonment.
Preference 1. Relationships is what is most important to you right now.
Preference 2. The shared journey is effortless. You build relationships easily, you communicate well.
Preference 3. The relationship process is occurring right now.
Preference 4. A past shared journey has inspired you to become more attentive to partnership and teamwork
Preference 5. You may be ignoring the importance of partnership and relationships in your life.
Spiral
Growth and evolution. You will see the same things in a different light. Strong need for variety, novelty and change. Dread routine. Capable of doing multiple tasks well. Flexibility is important. Creative phase.
Preference 1. Process of growth is most important to you
Preference 2. Easy and effortless for you to handle change
Preference 3. You are currently engaged in the process of change
Preference 4. Challenged in the past to make significant changes in your life. Doing this work has prepared you for what you have placed in position 3.
Preference 5. You are unlikely to show interest in growth and change at this time.
Consider and Reflect
Consider the relationships between the shapes and the preferences you have given them.
Tensions exist between the processes of 1 and 5. For example a spiral in 1 and square in 5 shows that you may yearn for change, but part of you is attached for stability and security and as a result may feel unwilling to make the change.
Preference 3 is the key to resolving the conflict between the positions 1 and 5. For example, if you have a square in position 1, and a spiral in position 5 and a circle in position 3, your desire for stability (square in 1) is in conflict with your unacknowledged need for change (spiral in 5), the key to resolution is in supporting your current need for independence (circle in 3).
It is an interesting exercise to do with your partner or close friends. Share with one another what you have and see if there are areas of compatibility or conflict. If you are currently needing time alone (circle) to find yourself as an individual, and your partner yearns for connection and companionship then you’ve got some talking to do about honouring your needs!
If you are in the field of coaching or healing (or any role where the question ‘where are you right now’ is pertinent) then this can be a simple exercise to get the discussion going.

The Importance of Hope
April 16, 2009 by Tania van der Vegte
Filed under Faith & Inspiration, Life Coaching
Hope is what makes our lives grow. It is what makes us take chances, make changes and keep going. The danger of the recession is not that we have to buy less, or even that money gets tighter but that we can lose hope. Alan K Chambers said “The grand essentials for happiness are something to do, someone to love and something to hope for”.
Hope is alive and well at weddings, births, when a child starts school and when they leave home. But hope, if it is not nurtured, inspired and cherished, starts to die. Hope doesn’t die from a broken heart or lost dreams, it dies from negative thoughts, constant worry, unconscious behaviour and apathy. Hope is kept alive by being open to the beauty of life, open to a welcoming smile, open to thinking about things in a different way, open to enjoying life and giving love in the world. This may sound like Pollyanna but maybe that is what the world needs if it is to keep growing.
Our suicide, divorce and cancer rates are climbing. Maybe it is time for a radical rethink of how we are living. How we are relating or not connecting with other people and the world around us. We are not separate from one another. We are all connected. We are fully able to choose whether we share negativity, fear and gossip in the world through what we say or do, or whether we choose to look for the good in ourselves and others, to share only good news and to be the change we want in the world.
Here are a couple of simple tips for keeping hope alive.
- Focus on what you do have in your life to be grateful for. If you can’t think of anything, think about this most people here have running water, somewhere to live and enough food - if you have these things you are better off than many of the people in the world. Almost half of the people in the world – over three billion people, live on less than $2.50 per day (World Bank Development indicators 2008). When we focus on what we do have we start to cherish the people, the pets and the time we do have in our lives, our stress reduces and we realise that we are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place as the Bay of Plenty where so much is available.
- Connect with other people and instead of sharing your fear, share you hopes, your dreams, your aspirations with each other. When we share our dreams we become inspired and hope blossoms. Parents think of your children. If there is no hope what is the point of studying, learning, growing or even living? Share hope, encourage it, nurture it and make it something important. Christopher Reeves said “Once you choose hope anything is possible”
- Keep in your heart the message “This too will pass”. No matter how bad things seem, or how much you have lost or suffered remember “this too will pass”. Life goes in cycles. There are times of loss and times of great abundance. The cycle will change over time. There is always something to be grateful for.
Awaken your own wisdom
March 30, 2009 by Tania van der Vegte

Don’t get distracted by your own frustration, your own judgements of where you should be or how life should be. Don’t get caught in the game of going over your disappointments, constantly feeling tired and feeling like you need others to feed your energy or that you need to save others. Don’t get caught in the illusion of waiting for someone or something to save you. Don’t get caught in the illusion of lack of abundance or sit waiting for the angels to give you the lotto numbers.
Just allow yourself to hear your own wisdom. Allow yourself to follow your passions. Don’t wait, just get out there, speak your truth and share your love with the world. Allow the magnificence of new energy to flow from you. Literally put out your open for business sign and watch how easy your energy flows. If you don’t know what to do – look inside – breathe and listen to your own wisdom. Your answers are not outside yourself they are within. Abundance is simply the reflection of the love of All That Is back to us. It flows when we allow ourselves to receive, to express and to choose easy.
So be true to yourself first. If you are not true to you, then you will not be true to others. It is like the airplane safety protocol where you must put on your own life jacket first, before assisting others. If you are drowning then you are no use to anyone else. Allowing yourself to receive love and to begin to trust yourself will this is the beginning. It will allow you to go deeper and deeper into your own wisdom and experience more and more of your divinity. For the opportunity is to experience our divinity, our heaven, here on on earth. The question is can you allow yourself to receive that much love.
Our consciousness is our spirit. It is our connection to the oneness (all that is). We are not separate, we never have been. We are part of the whole, the infinite wisdom, the unconditional love, the totality. We have simply forgotten we are part of the whole. We are magnificent creators who came here, forgot our divine origins in order to play the game of remembering just who we are. We are trying to remember that we are divine angels having a human experience. We play the games of lack, betrayal, hurt and loss so that we have to go deeper into ourselves for answers. We have to go deeper so we seek the wisdom to trigger our remembering. This is why so many have suffered. But you don’t have to keep suffering. The surrender, the willingness to receive the love that is so abundantly available inside you, this is the gift that is offered. Can you breathe that breath? Breathe that love within you.
The Attitude of Gratitude
March 28, 2009 by Life Academy Online

In one episode of the TV cartoon show, “The Simpsons,” young Bart, is asked to say grace. He prays
“Dear God, we paid for all this stuff ourselves, so thanks for nothing.”
It’s an interesting reflection of where we are today in society. How many of us, don’t say thank you, each time we eat a meal? It seems we’ve forgotten how to say thank you for the simplest of things – for the food and beverages that nourish us, and sustain us. There’s the sun, without which our life would not exist that provides the energy for growing the food we eat, and the rain that rebalances and our water levels and allows our bodies consisting mainly of water, to be replenished.
So looking at Barts point of view and his family who worked to put a meal on the table – how many of us give thanks for having a job, or a source of income, or the provision to grow our own food to put that meal on the table?
We’re probably better at giving thanks for things we value – things that we consider a blessing. We’re probably also good for giving thanks when we are relieved that our fears didn’t come true “thank goodness for that”. We’re probably not so good for giving thanks during times of adversity – when we are challenged. When times are tough we’re probably not so good at looking at the things we do have that are blessings perhaps unrecognised.
Learning to express gratitude for the little things challenges us. It challenges us to remove the layers of ‘what we should have’ in our lives, and focus, and cultivate ‘what we do have’.
If we were homeless, would we be grateful for the shelter provided to us – if that was a bridge, sheltering us from rain, could we be grateful?
If we had lost someone close, would we be grateful for the life that we knew, and the opportunity to learn about how we continue life without them, and to explore how that life lives on? Could we be grateful?
If we lost our job, would we be grateful for the opportunity to show courage and resilience and to find a new sense of faith that we will be supported by the earth? Could we be grateful?
Learning to express gratitude brings us back to the truth Read more
Create your own Inspiration Board
March 25, 2009 by Tania van der Vegte
Filed under Faith & Inspiration, Time for Self
Dream a little dream
It is easy to lose sight of one’s dreams and inspiration. The routine of everyday life can make it seem dull and stuck. This exercise is an invitation to explore, to become inspired and to play with what makes life wonderful for you. Even if you have never done anything artistic in your life – this is a great creative exercise. The aim is to create a storyboard that inspires you and reminds you why you are here. This is great fun to do by yourself or together with loved ones. Anyone can do it.
You will need:
- Several magazines with lots of pictures and words. Second hand stores, markets and garage sales are a great source. Buy yourself a great pile of them.
- A large piece of cardboard (you can cut up a big box and paint it or buy A3 or A2 coloured card from any stationery shop. It needs to be strong enough to hang on the wall.
- A good quality glue stick (not from the $2 shop they fall off)
The Exercise:
Go through the magazines and cut out any words, images or colours that move you or inspire you. Some examples might be wisdom, beauty, peace, healthy, vitality etc. Find any phrases that speak to you anything that speaks to your heart. Just let yourself go – don’t analyse just browse, cut and be inspired. When you feel you are complete stop. Leave it for an hour or two or overnight. (Note: If you are doing it with someone else cut out things individually and then come together and notice what words you have doubled up and what words you both might have missed. It is a great one to do as a couple or as a family to choose what kind of life you want to create together.)
Come back fresh and get your cardboard and your cut outs. Arrange the words and images on the cardboard in whatever way feels right for you. Don’t glue it yet. This exercise is not about looking great it is about inspiring you and reminding you what your life is about. No one else needs to see it so go through and really choose the words that sing to your heart. Leave the rest behind. Choose only those pictures that move you and mean something to you or simply make you laugh and feel happy. This is your inspiration board. If you have words or feelings missing go find the words or simply write them on a piece of paper and add them. (Note if doing your board with someone else place your words and images at the same time and just share the space. Because it is joint make sure you are both happy with how it looks and feels and what words are included. I totally recommend you do individual boards first before doing a couple board. This enables your own creative expression as well as having a shared experience.)
Again leave it a while. Come back and look at it and make any changes you want until it feels done. You can glue it now. When the board is complete stick it up on the wall, somewhere that feels safe and private (this is your exercise and if you allow others to comment too much on it you will loose the whole point of it which it your own inspiration and creativity).
Notice over a week:
- Is there anything missing? If there is add it on
- Have you been drawn to particular words, images or phrases? How do they relate to your life right now or what is missing from life right now?
- How do you bring inspiration into your every day?
I hope you enjoyed it.
Live your Life Purpose
March 11, 2009 by Louise Gilbert
Filed under Faith & Inspiration, Selection of Interest
Let’s look at some definitions of Purpose:
- An anticipated outcome that is intended or that guides your planned actions
- The reason for which something exists
- To set as an aim, intention, or goal for oneself
- To intend; design
These definitions, for me, create two thoughts. The first, is a little more subtle and suggests that there is a reason for our existence, and in that reason, lies our purpose. You are a master of your own destiny – yet there is a guiding purpose that you have been born to fulfil in this lifetime.
Finding purpose, and living it, does not guarantee a life of free of pain and worry. The physical world as we know it one of duality – of two sides: light and dark, good and bad, cold and hot. According to Neale-Donald Walsch, the purpose of duality is to set a context for our experience. How do you know joy, unless you have known pain. The feelings and emotions we experience is a physical feedback mechanism that reports to us our experience.
So to live with purpose doesn’t mean you need only to be ‘good’ and that you need ‘fixing’. You don’t. Good intentions, good thoughts, good deeds, only showing good, only doing good, only being good, only having good is only one part of the whole. You cannot have good, without evil. You cannot have light, without dark, you cannot know peace, unless you have known fear. You cannot experience joy, unless you have known pain. At the highest level of our being, we are source energy that just IS – it is neither good, nor bad, but to experience the physical sensation, we need context.
This universal energy that drives the whole of creation is pure. It can be described as Love, God, Source, Life, the Divine – and so many others. This energy cannot die, as shown in Science by Quantum Physicists. Energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed. You are energy, you cannot die, you can only be transformed. You have a body, you are not your body.
Whilst we are ‘powered’ by this Source, we are also experiencing the physical reality of what it is to be human. We have to deal with the reality of this illusion, and part of that, is accepting within our humanness, there exists the dual potential for both light and dark. Part of finding out who we are, is discovering the wholeness and duality of who we are.
So, finding purpose is about finding what is driving you from a greater universal perspective, and part of that means accepting that some things are out of your control. There are universal laws with which you need to work and allow if you are going to fully manifest the purpose in which you have intended.
Quite often, we can be drawn to defining the outward ways on which are purpose is to manifest, which actually is not our business. To know purpose, is to know how insignificant we are, yet how significant we are, to know how nothing is in our control, yet so much is in our control.

Achieve your Potential
So moving on, and looking a bit closer to home, let us look at purpose from the perspective that we have the ability to design our lives, as we would dream of. Within the hands of fate, we create purpose through our intent, our desires. We ask ourselves, what purpose do I have? What need within me is driving me in this direction? What are my intentions? What are my goals that I would like to achieve? How can I serve? What would I choose to be, do, or have if there were no constraints?
Our purpose is found in doing what it is we love to do. It becomes deeper than that – it turns into what you are inspired to do. You were given a combination of talents and qualities for a reason, and that reason was to express them, and to experience the joy of creating.
To know purpose, is to ‘let go and let god’. This doesn’t mean that we become lazy or disillusioned about life because it’s not in our hands. It means that we have a wonderful ability to use our intent to create, and allow the universe to bring it to us. This can be quite scary, especially when we don’t know how the future will unfold to us. You’ll get to love the work you are doing and the life you are living, planning only when planning is called for and let your purpose evolve and manifest. When you are expressing yourself and contribute to others in a way that brings you great joy; the universe will take care of the how. If you get stuck, it’s because you’re dictating and controlling how you want something to manifest.
From a numerology perspective, each number within your chart is an archetype, meaning an expression of yourself that can be found in everyone, and by their nature, they have both positive and negative aspects. Finding purpose is about understanding yourself to the extent that you know and understand the main archetypes that are playing themselves out through you, and reconciling and transforming those aspects that are causing you difficulty, and holding you back from expressing the entirety of who you are.
How can you find your Purpose?
The question about finding your particular purpose; is about finding out what makes you unique from other people.
Let’s look at finding purpose from the perspective of a few questions.
Your self – who am I, walking this path? What are my strengths, my challenges, my motivation and inner-most heart’s desire?
When we connect with our self, we see ourselves for all that we are. We accept and love ourselves; both our light, and our dark side. We learn about what brings us pleasure, what we would choose to do, rather than should do, we give ourselves permission to express ourselves in a way that serves our needs, and in doing so, serves others.
Connecting with self, is also about reconciling those sides of our self that do not serve us in a way that is for our highest good. As a child, and moving into adulthood, we created parts of ourselves to help us deal with the challenges of life. All too often, these sides of ourselves create us trouble, by not responding in a way that is always helpful. By lovingly accepting all parts of who we are, and transforming those sides of us that have not been given the opportunity to mature, we can move forward, having liberated those parts of ourselves that hold us back.
Your journey – what path am I walking in this lifetime? What is my goal? Where am I going, where have I been?
When we connect with our path, we feel in control of our journey. We start to plan for what’s ahead and equip ourselves accordingly. We are also able to enjoy the path, drawing our gaze away from the horizon, and not looking behind us to the road that has been travelled. We stop still, and take in all that is around us.
Your experience – what talents can I bring to this experience we call ‘life’? What lessons will I learn that will enable me to grow?
We do not travel, for travelling sake. We travel because we want to be enriched by the experience. We travel because we want to find ways of connecting with our inner most being, to experience joy, happiness, and excitement of bringing our talents out into the open. How many times have you had a holiday where you gave yourself permission to express yourself in a way you wouldn’t ordinarily? This may have included singing around a camp fire, dancing, relaxing and absorbing the sounds, doing something adventurous. Notice how people’s true natures shine, when they give themselves permission to ‘take a break’.
How many trips have you been on, when you have been challenged in some way, and have responded by saying “well next time I’ll remember not to….” Life is a journey, in which we travel, and learn along the way.
I’d like to share with you the Prayer of St. Francis. I feel is encapsulates my life purpose in its highest possible sense.
Make me a channel of thy peace;
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.
Amen.
To me, dying refers to the end of our blindness, and awakening to the eternal source that we are.

Connecting with loved ones

Mind Room by Ticia Kelly
Imagine being able to contact people passed over.
Smell their special scent or feel their total love in form of a cuddle or listen to their advice
I will show you how easy it is to link in to people passed over. It is a matter of trusting yourself and your loved ones passed and the spirit workers.
Find a room or a place that you will be able to feel at peace for about half an hour.
I want you to lie down or sit and relax and with every inward breath I want you to think of nothing but peace and every outward breath I want you to release any tension, breathing through the nose with every inward breath and out through the mouth with your outward breath.
Letting go and relaxing I want you to envisage a long corridor similar to a hospital, shiny floors, and wide corridor with a lot of doors either side. I want you to envisage yourself walking down the corridor nice and relaxed and when you come to a door you are drawn to, I want you to open the door and walk through closing the door behind you. This is your room!
Put anything you have in your hand that makes your day a busy day, Cell phone, keys, dairy, wallet, and hand bag down on a side table next to the door.
Have a look around the room make the room whatever colour you want to make it, this is a fantastic opportunity to do a makeover on a room and it doesn’t cost you a bean!
You may want to have some French doors fitted overlooking a park with light dappling in from the trees, or you may want to be by the seaside with the sound of the waves washing the shore, this is your room and you can decide.
When you have a complete picture of what your room looks like and feels like I would like you to spend time in your room feeling the peace and tranquillity…..
Feeling your connection with spirit at the same time. I want you to envisage standing by your door as if you have just come into your room and as you are walking to the middle of the room you have to go down two steps. So one at a time and slowly I would like you to walk down the first step and as you do, feel yourself sinking lower within. Now take the second step and feel even more relaxed.
There is a massage table in the centre of the room and I would like you to go onto the massage table onto your back feeling so relaxed as you are lying there.
Letting go of any anxiety, just let yourself be. Now start feeling the table floating up, up, up, through the ceiling up, up until you feel yourself and see yourself onto another level. I want you to see yourself there. Feel and see.
Envisage a colour going through the top of your head and through your body, you choose the colour, see the energy going through your head, shoulders, arms, chest right through to your toes, and feel the healing and cleansing as it tingles through.
Now just wait, wait for your loved one to appear, they may already be waiting for you. Get off the table and go and give them a hug, or hold their hand.
Talk to them, sense them and know that they are there. Enjoy this time with your loved ones. If you are finding it hard at this point don’t try too hard, it will come, just relax and trust, that is right relax and trust.
And when you are ready to come back, Say your goodbyes knowing that you can come back at any time to the energies that you love through your mind room. See yourself back on your massage table floating back down to your mind room. Then walking out of your door, picking up your keys cell phones etc. Closing your door, knowing you can go into your room whenever you want. It is your room. Back down the corridor and back into your body, wiggle you toes and hands to bring you back to your full consciousness. Welcome back, now wasn’t that easy! If you found it hard to envisage, don’t give up it comes with practice. Some people can confidently run through this exercise - others take a bit longer.
Your mind is the door. All you have to do is open it for the journey
